The Law of Non-Interference - How to Live and Let Live!
How can the law of non-interference be relevant in our lives today? Well when you think about it, interfering in things that isn’t really our business can create backlashes of mistrust and negative emotions. But if it’s to do with our own lives, it’s important to be in control of our thoughts, emotions and actions and use them in a constructive way, but at the same time, not a manipulative or interfering way.
In essence the law of non-interference means is be responsible, do what you can but don’t try and change someone else’s destiny or situation. You see, if we make changes to someone else’s destiny by interfering with their lives and they don’t particularly ask you to, you could be opening yourself up to rebounds that you never even thought of, nor should you have to worry about them.
I think if someone asks you for help, then you can assist them with ideas, and try to stimulate their growth with your input and thoughts. But the minute you begin to interfere with their daily running of their life it becomes a concern.
The strong and wise person will sit back, acknowledge what is going on in the lives of people, and even if there is something very wrong going to happen to them, from the effects of their own actions, he/she will not step in.
God is the ultimate force and authority on the law of non-interference. We have complete free will and you would think that an energy force as powerful as God would step in, if someone was going to murder another or break any of the other ten commandments.
However, God doesn’t interfere because he gave us the gift of “free will” and therefore, if he/she was to judge or interfere by stepping in every time something didn’t align with the universal laws he/she would be considered genuine and would effectively be breaking the law of non-judgement.
We need to try and mould ourselves to be observers of things, and just let them be, but we all too often try and step in and this is what causes all number of incidents and complications that we don’t need.
If we still feel the need to interfere, then we should at least try (as God would and does) to gently influence the outcomes, but never by force as that would then break the law of non-force.
It might look like this: You see a colleague of yours wanting to move up in her job, she’s very talented at what she does and you believe that she can do it. Your boss, who you’re on very good terms with doesn’t think she’s all that suitable for the proposed position and possibly not the best fit.
How would you go about this in a non-interfering way?
By the use of your observations, and gentle clues you might begin a mild conversation with your boss one day. Or possibly even comment on something you see in the employee in question and how she did a very good job on a certain project. The key here is to not make it obvious, nor to tell the employee that you’re doing it, or your boss, you need to keep this knowledge sacred to yourself so its power isn’t diluted or seen as interfering. But no-one is going to take offence to living in accordance to the law of praise, so this is a beautiful and genuine way to go about it.
Should your boss ask you why you said what you did, you can just shrug it off as your viewpoint and you thought it was great how they did it. Now if you’re boss is an astute and aware person, he might pick up on the energy your projecting and begin to think a different thought process about the employee. While this is your intent, it’s in no way interfering because you haven’t involved either party or tried to change their mind in any way or force the issue.
This is how God works also, he gently reminds us about things in our lives, by thoughts, feelings, messages and situations. He never “steps in” and controls us though, and it’s up to us to interpret the messages he sends, which are sometimes very clear or extremely vague. If we decide to ignore the messages, they are then upgraded in intensity, and become a lesson we need to learn, varying in severity until we are at peace with that lesson.
Can you recognize some of the patterns in your life that are recurring, that perhaps you’re interfering with and trying to force into submission so it fits your life? These lessons will recur and keep coming at you until you master them and learn what they mean and solve the lesson.
My own way of influencing the world according to the law of non-interference is by writing this article and spreading my website throughout the internet, so that awareness comes to the forefront of our minds. But never would I say to someone, or a group of people “you must think like me!” as that is interfering.
I hope you get the picture of this subtle law, and have learnt the lesson behind it and how you can take the principals above and apply them in your life.
